Nel Unlit

Free Event

Nel Unlit were born out of the Spooker Rekkids attic in the old ladies room of the Westgarth Social Club in Middlesbrough.

They have written a concept album, “Wake for the Dreaming” based on the graphic novel “World’s End” by Neil Gaiman. The album is a celebration of storytelling and it’s power to soothe and inspire in times of crisis. Various methods of storytelling are used to achieve this, including stories within stories (and even stories within stories within stories). It will be released in 2019.

They released their debut single “True Things” in August 2017. Their second single “Unhung” was recorded at Field Music’s studio in Sunderland and features Peter and David Brewis themselves. It was released in February 2019 on Spooker Rekkids and followed by Fireflies.

Releases were greeted with praise and comparisons with Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, Alt-j, Elbow, Richard Dawson and Jarvis Cocker.
