About Time’ is looking forward to performing their varied mix of songs: jazz standards from the Great American Songbook inspired by the likes of Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan but also the jazz-infused takes on popular classics from Burt Bacharach and Carole King.
About Time consist of:
Aggie Dobson – vocals, Richard Page – guitar, Paul Palmer – tenor and soprano saxophone, Ken Johnston – double bass and Richard Rushton - drummer.
Polish born Aggie took singing lessons from an early age but had to wait until a few years ago to fulfil her childhood dream to perform for wider audiences. Using the beautiful colours of her voice, Aggie performs with emotional honesty.
Richard is a jazz and rock guitarist. He has been a prolific composer of jazz / rock tunes, which he has performed with his various line-ups for over 20 years. His musical style and artistry compliments About Time superbly!
Paul has been playing professionally and teaching saxophone for the last 17 years. A highly rated regular on the North West jazz scene, Paul plays tenor and soprano sax in various outfits. His influences are Dexter Gordon and Stan Getz.
Ken plays Ana – his 150 years old double bass – in many Lancaster based line-ups. A well known and liked musician, Ken adds his unique energy and drive!
Richard has been the drummer in a number of modern jazz bands in the north west in recent years.
