Derrick Harris is a Swansea-born guitarist and composer, and a graduate of Leeds College of Music, where he also taught for several years. His most recent album, Ripples, is his third trio release, following Once More For Luck. His earlier septet album And Then Some, partly funded by Jazz Yorkshire, showcased his writing and arranging and led to a Jazz Yorkshire Awards 2012 shortlist for Composer and Arranger of the Year.
Alongside leading his own groups, Harris is a sought-after guest soloist and a regular member of leading jazz ensembles and orchestras. His guitar work features extensively on UK radio, television, theatre productions, and cast recordings, reflecting a long and varied career across jazz, orchestral, and West End performance.
