‘The Spicy Lil Devils ’A fresh new band celebrating the swingiest 1930s hot jazz and old time blues from three young masters of the style. This is party of a tour for an eagerly anticipated album release for the band - an exciting collaboration between Scottish American Ali and Paris based musicians.
Arriving in Edinburgh fresh from her old home in New Orleans, Ali Affleck found a Scotland where no-one under the age of 60 was singing old jazz and ‘classic’ blues repertoire…fast forward 12 years and she earned her place as doyenne of the scene. Ali performs internationally at swing dance events and top festivals such as Ascona and she sold out her Ronnie Scott’s debut in august this year. Her regular trips back to the USA to perform have given such accolades as: ‘The spirit of Bessie Smith in the 21st century’- LA Times and "Scotland's Queen of Vintage jazz & Blues "(OCWeekly)

Ali won ‘Best Jazz Vocalist’ in the 2014 Scottish Jazz Awards, was nominated 'Best Emerging artist ' and nominated again as best vocalist in 2017,2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Lorenzo Cortes is recognised as one of the best guitarists in the burgeoning paris scene - With a solid Charlie Christian , Eddie green vibe and imaginative and exciting improvisation skills. Matt is also one of the highest regarded pianists in Paris - he plays stride, ragtime and hot jazz with passion and verve and the combination of him with Lorenzo truly is something not to be missed!
Expect bawdy blues, the hottest fiery riffs, and swinging jazz turned up to 11.
