This mega combo are welcomed to Zeffirelli's!
Dave Walsh (drums) and Stuart McCallum (guitar) reunite at Zeffirelli’s in Ambleside for a special duo performance. Friends and musical partners since 1996, the pair have shared hundreds of gigs and recording sessions over nearly three decades. Their long-standing musical relationship is rooted in trust, deep listening and a shared love of spontaneous, song-led improvisation — a partnership they will formally document with a duo album recorded in February.
Stuart McCallum is one of Manchester’s most distinctive and respected guitarists. Widely known for his work with The Cinematic Orchestra, including Ma Fleur and Live at the Royal Albert Hall, his playing blends jazz, folk, ambient and improvised music with great subtlety and character. Alongside extensive collaborative work, his output as a solo artist and with projects such as The Breath has earned international recognition for its warmth, restraint and musical honesty.
Dave Walsh is a Manchester-based drummer, educator and long-standing figure on the UK jazz scene. His work has included collaborations with artists such as Tom McRae, Arun Ghosh and Enrico Pieranunzi, alongside extensive experience across jazz, folk, rock and improvised music. Known for his strong sense of time, touch and musical sensitivity, Walsh brings a supportive, song-focused approach to the duo, allowing space, melody and interaction to lead the music.
