DAS RHEINGOLD FROM TEATRO ALLA SCALA, MILAN

Das Rheingold is the first of four operas that comprise Richard Wagner’s epic Der Ring des Nibelungen, the largest musico-dramatic work ever written. Through a complex tale inspired by Teutonic and Norse folklore, Wagner explored key issues central to civilised life, starting in Das Rheingold with the primal relationship between Love and Power. Conducted by Daniel Barenboim with staging and sets by Guy Cassiers, and starring René Pape as Wotan, this new production of Das Rheingold will be broadcast live onto your cinema screen from the Teatro alla Scala, Milan in co-production with Staatsoper unter den Linden, Berlin.
